NHTSA recall 01V236000
Trailer Hitches · Coachmen RV Company, LLC
Details
What's wrong: The safety chains do not have an adequate load range to prevent failure in the event the trailer is loaded to the maximum gross vehicle weight rating.
Why it matters: This could result in the safety chains failing in the event of a separation of the trailer from the tow vehicle hitch which in turn would lead to a loss of control of the travel trailer.
The fix: Dealers will install the correct load range safety chains. Owner notification began July 18, 2001.
