NHTSA recall 09V004000
Trailer Hitches · Jayco, Inc.
Details
What's wrong: Affects vehicles equipped with putnam hitches. After some period of use, certain trailer hitches may develop stress fractures due to sharp radii and/or tool marking.
Why it matters: Suspect hitches may develop fractures and subsequent separation may occur, resulting in a vehicle crash, property damage or pedestrian harm.
The fix: Entegra coach is working with spartan who will replace the trailer hitch free of charge (please see 08V567). The hitch has been removed from one vehicle and the remaining 3 vehicles are still in entegra's inventory and will not be sold until the hitches are replaced.
