NHTSA recall 11V296000
Fuel System, Gasoline · International Motors, LLC
Details
What's wrong: Affects vehicles equipped with a maxxforce 7 engine. A cap on the return fuel valve may fall off allowing air to be drawn into the fuel system possibly resulting in engine hard start, no start, or stall conditions.
Why it matters: Engine stall on the roadway increases the risk of a vehicle crash.
The fix: Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the return fuel valve cap, free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin on or about August 12, 2011.
