NHTSA recall 12V571000
Electrical System, Fuel System, Gasoline · Jaguar Cars, Ltd.
Details
What's wrong: Affects vehicles equipped with a gasoline engine. The electronic modules which control the fuel pump may shut down causing the fuel pump to stop pumping fuel. The resulting fuel starvation will cause the engine to stall.
Why it matters: An engine stall without warning while driving may lead to a loss of motive power, a loss of power-assisted braking and a loss of power-assisted steering. Each of these conditions may increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
The fix: Jaguar Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will install an additional wiring harness to the in-tank fuel pump, free of charge. The recall began on January 24, 2013.
