NHTSA recall 13V638000
Equipment · Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc.
Details
What's wrong: Tiffin motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Allegro 33aa motorhomes equipped with an electric fireplace. In the affected vehicles, the fireplace may ignite a piece of exposed wood inside the electric fireplace.
Why it matters: If the exposed piece of wood ignites, the rest of the motorhome could also catch fire.
The fix: Tiffin will notify owners, and dealers will install a heat shield to keep heat from the exposed wood, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.
