NHTSA recall 14V644000
Wheels · Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA
Details
What's wrong: Yamaha motor corporation, U.S.a. (yamaha) is recalling certain model year 2014 yamaha yzf-r6 motorcycles manufactured August 1, 2014, to September 1, 2014. The front and rear wheels of the affected motorcycles may have been manufactured with insufficient hardness.
Why it matters: If the wheels have insufficient hardness, the wheels may loosen and/or air may leak from around the tire bead. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.
The fix: Yamaha has notified owners, and dealers will replace the front and rear wheel and tire assemblies, free of charge. The recall began on October 30, 2014.
