NHTSA recall 17V653000
Exterior Lighting · Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC
Details
What's wrong: The low beam headlight settings on these vehicles may deviate from the required specification, reducing the range of light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (fmvss) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
Why it matters: Reduced headlight range can affect visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
The fix: Mbusa owns the affected vehicles. Dealers will inspect the headlight adjustment, correcting it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on October 27, 2017.
