What's wrong: A transistor within the power steering control unit may overheat resulting in the power steering system being disabled.

Why it matters: If the power steering assist is unexpectedly disabled, it may increase the risk of a crash.

The fix: Mbusa will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the steering rack, replace it as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in January 2018.
