NHTSA recall 18V905000
Air Bags · Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC
Details
What's wrong: In the event of a crash, the frontal air bag may have a delayed deployment for certain unbelted front seat passengers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (fmvss) number 208, "occupant crash protection."
Why it matters: A delay in the air bag deployment can increase the risk of injury.
The fix: Mbusa has notified owners, and dealers will update the air bag control unit software parameters, free of charge. The recall began March 1, 2019.
