Details

What's wrong: The rear reflex reflectors may not reflect an adequate amount of light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (fmvss) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

Why it matters: An inadequate amount of reflected light will decrease the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Bmw will notify owners, and dealers will replace both rear reflex reflectors, free of charge. The recall began March 30, 2020.
