Details

What's wrong: Affects vehicles equipped with a replacement part for the right and/or left-side outer second-row seat belt assembly. These seat belt assemblies may not function properly in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standards (fmvss) numbers 208, "occupant crash protection" and 209, "seat belt assemblies."

Why it matters: Seat belts that do not function properly can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

The fix: Land rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the right and/or left-side outer second-row seat belt assemblies and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began February 25, 2021.
