NHTSA recall 20V813000
Power Train · Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA
Details
What's wrong: The second gear of the transmission can crack and break under high speed loads.
Why it matters: A broken gear can cause the transmission and rear wheel to lock causing a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: Yamaha will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, reprogram the engine control unit (ECU) and replace the main axle and drive axle assemblies, free of charge. The recall began January 20, 2021.
