NHTSA recall 21V048000
Equipment · Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA
Details
What's wrong: The vehicle identification number (VIN) printed on the federal certification label may not match the VIN stamped on the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 cfr part 567, "certification."
Why it matters: The owner, referencing an incorrect VIN label, may not recognize their vehicle is involved in a safety recall, and may not have the recall remedy performed, which could increase the risk of injury, fire or a crash.
The fix: Yamaha will notify owners, and dealers will install a correct certification label, free of charge. The recall began February 19, 2021.
