Exterior Lighting · Porsche Cars North America, Inc.
Details
What's wrong: Porsche cars north america, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Taycan vehicles. The pre-collision automatic hazard lights may activate in non-emergency situations. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
Why it matters: An activation of hazard lights in non-emergency situations could confuse other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: Dealers will reprogram the hazard lights, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 2, 2021.
