Details

What's wrong: The water pump pulley drive belt may become damaged or detach, which can allow the engine to overheat. An overheated engine can rupture the engine coolant elbow pipe, leaking coolant onto the turbocharger heat shield.

Why it matters: Coolant leaking onto the turbocharger heat shield inside the engine compartment can increase the risk of a fire.

The fix: Dealers will replace the engine coolant elbow and the turbocharger feed coolant pipe, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 19, 2023.
