What's wrong: A software error in the skid control electronic control unit (ECU) may result in a loss of power brake assist when turning a corner.
Why it matters: A loss of power brake assist can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: Dealers will update the skid control ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 19, 2024. Additionally, notifications to owners of the corolla hybrid vehicles were mailed January 17, 2025.
