Details
What's wrong: The park rod may fail to engage when the vehicle is placed in the park (p) position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (fmvss) number 114, "theft protection and rollaway prevention."
Why it matters: A park rod that fails to engage can result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: Dealers will replace the transmission park rod assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 3, 2025.
