What's wrong: The pivot bolt on the gearshift pedal may loosen and detach, resulting in the inability to shift gears. As such, these motorcycles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (fmvss) number 123, "motorcycle controls and displays."
Why it matters: The inability to shift gears while riding increases the risk of a crash or injury.
The fix: Dealers will replace the pivot bolt, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 1, 2025.
