What's wrong: Water may enter into the rearview camera, which can cause the rearview camera image to fail to display when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "rear visibility."

Why it matters: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 24, 2026.
