NHTSA recall 26V612000
Electrical System, Visibility · General Motors, LLC
Details
What's wrong: When closed using the key fob's express-up function, the front windows may fail to detect an obstruction and reverse direction. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (fmvss) number 118, "power-operated window systems."
Why it matters: A closing window that does not reverse direction as expected can pinch a passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix: The body control module (bcm) software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (ota) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 9, 2026.
