What's wrong: Water may enter the electric power steering wiring harness, which can disable power steering assist.
Why it matters: A loss of power steering assist can increase the risk of a crash.
The fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the wiring harness and electronic power steering gear, as necessary, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed November 17, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available.
