NHTSA recall 91V152000
Steering · Winnebago Industries, Inc.
Details
What's wrong: The steering gear intermediate shaft clamps used to retain the intermediate shaft to the steering gear shaft and the column shaft can become loose because of incorrect bolt size and clamp force.
Why it matters: Loose intermediate shaft clamps could wear smooth therespective splines of each connecting part and cause the assembly to fall apart.this results in loss of steering control and a possible vehicle accident.
The fix: Replace the pinch bolts in the intermediate steering shaft assembly with 7/16" bolts. Torque bolts 63 to 75 foot pounds.
