Problem: Royal enfield north america limited (royal enfield) is recalling certain 2023 himalayan, classic 350, meteor 350, hunter 350, super meteor 650, int 650, and continental gt 650 motorcycles. the side and rear reflectors are not sufficient. as such, these lights fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
Risk: Without the proper reflective equipment, it may be difficult for other road users to see the motorcycle from the rear or side, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will replace the side and rear reflectors, free of charge. owner notification letters are expected to be mailed october 30, 2024. owners may contact royal enfield's customer service at 1-866-600-1122. royal enfield's number for this recall is sc-43.
Service Brakes, Hydraulic #21V045000 · 2021 · 4,403 units
Problem: Royal enfield north america limited (royal enfield) is recalling certain 2018-2020 continental gt 650 and interceptor 650 motorcycles. road salt may cause corrosion on the brake calipers.
Risk: Corroded brake calipers may cause the brakes to drag or decrease braking performance, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Royal enfield will notify owners, and dealers will replace front and rear calipers, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed march 15, 2021. owners may contact royal enfield customer service at 1-866-600-1122.
