What's wrong: Nissan north america, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2017-2019 rogue hybrid vehicles. The hydraulic brake booster assembly May overheat internally, resulting in a loss of power brake assist. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "light vehicle brake systems."
Why it matters: A loss of power brake assist can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: Dealers will replace the hydraulic brake booster supply unit, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed September 22, 2022. A second letter will be mailed October 31, 2022.
