NHTSA recall 03V065000
Fuel System, Gasoline · Coachmen RV Company, LLC
Details
What's wrong: On certain class c MINI-motor homes built on 2003 Chevrolet chassis, the chassis fuel return line, which is tapped to supply fuel to the generator, has been found to have pressures that exceed the maximum allowed by the generator manufacturer.
Why it matters: As a result, if the generator is operated at the same time the chassis engine is running, excess fuel could be delivered to the generator, creating a potential for a generator stall and possible fuel spill. In the event of a fuel spill, a fire could occur.
The fix: Dealers will install an approved kit that draws the generator fuel supply directly from the fuel tank. Owner notification is began March 24, 2003.
